James Edward Carrell

James Edward Carrell was born in Lima, Ohio on Friday, March 30, 1945, to King William and Bonnie Kate (Pack) Carrell. He passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026. He was raised in Norwalk, California. He was married and divorced two times.

James, affectionately known as Jimmy, was a fan of red and an even bigger fan of socializing. Jimmy could be seen talking to everyone and anyone, sharing his joy for life.

Jimmy was also known for his love of dressing up in costumes on a daily basis. One day he might be a retired police officer and the next he might be dressed as a construction worker, or maybe looking handsome in a suit and tie.

James was preceded in death by his parents, King and Bonnie Carrell; his brother, George Martin; and his son, David Lee Carrell.

He is survived by five children: Paul James, John Curtis, Shelly Ranae, Tammy Lynn, and Christina May; four siblings: Donna Sue Keele, Bonnie Mae Gines, John Martin Carrell, and Nada Lynn Broderick; along with numerous other family and friends who all loved him dearly.

James' viewing will be held from 10:30 am to 11:15 am, followed by the family prayer and then his funeral service at 11:30 am, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the LDS Jackson Ward building: 1029 26th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401; with Bishop Daniel Stuart officiating. After the dedication of the grave, the family invites family and friends to a luncheon at 2:30 pm held at the church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Tom and Bob Keele for the loving care they gave to Jimmy during his last years.
