James Albert Hunter

ROY - Our loving father, grandfather, and brother, James Albert Hunter, 87, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2008. James was born on July 26, 1920, to Albert M. Hunter and Mary L. Fisher, in Montello, Nevada.

He married Luceil Smout on March 10, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, she preceded him in death on May 11, 2001.

James was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in numerous callings in the Sandridge Roy Utah Ward including; Executive Secretary and High Priest Group Leader. He also served as a temple worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was President of the combined Sunset-Roy Lions Club, and President of the Timberlakes Property Owners Association.

James is survived by his sons; Thomas A. (Janet) Hunter, Riverdale, and Richard J. (Ann) Hunter, Syracuse. He is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four sisters, and one brother.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hooper City Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, Hooper. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, and Wednesday from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the Mortuary, prior to services.

Interment in the Hooper City Cemetery.
