Janues Charles Keller Obituary (1937 - 2009)

MANUTA - Janues Charles Keller, Jr., 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at his home. He was born in Preston, Idaho on October 22, 1937 a son of Janues Charles and Luda Weaver Keller. Charles grew up in Pocatello, ID until he was 11 years old, then the family moved to Brigham City, UT where he lived for 10 years, he lived in Lyman WY for 40 years, then he moved to Mantua, UT for his retirement. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1955, Utah State University in 1963 with an English major BA. He served an LDS Mission to Denmark. Charles married Sydnee Jeppsen on November 18, 1960 in the Logan LDS Temple. Later Charles and his wife Sydnee served a mission as LDS Employment Specialist. He served all his life in the church; in Bishoprics, High Councils, and as a Stake Clerk, as primary and Sunday School teachers and a great Home Teacher. He was an educator at Lyman High School from 1970-2003; LDS Seminary Teacher/Administrator in Lyman WY. He was active in Lyman Town Council; Mayor of Lyman, Chairman of Uinta Lincoln County Association of Governments, Chairman of Bridger Valley Joint Powers Board; Owner and Manager of the Lyman Polar King. He had a passion for horses and loved riding especially with his brothers. He loved doing things for his children and grandchildren. He also loved good literature and reading. He enjoyed helping others and touched many lives. Surviving are his wife, Sydnee, Manuta; mother, Luda Keller, Brigham City; children: Ann (Craig) Bailey, Mantua; Lori (Shane) Smith, Kaysville; Jill (Doug) Morgensen, Tooele; John (Lynette) Keller, Sandy; Jan (Austin) McKinnon, Herriman; Kristene (Paul) Lattin, Las Vegas; Spencer (Corrine) Keller, Mantua; Suzanne (Quin) Siddoway, Lake Town; 35 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers: Dr. Bruce (Marcia) Keller, Willard; Richard (Dawn) Keller, Pocatello, ID: Dean (Debbie) Keller, Rexburg, ID. Preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 11:00 a.m. at the Manuta Ward Chapel, 237 S. Willard Peak Rd, Mantua. Friends may call on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church.
