Jason Baird

–

Hooper, Utah

Jason Michael Baird, 52, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at home after a valiant and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jason was born on February 2, 1973, to Michael and Cathy Baird. From the very beginning, his parents were his closest companions. If there was a hunting trip planned, it was simply understood that they were all going together. Their bond was deep, steady, and lifelong.

On July 2, 2010, Jason married the love of his life, Lindsay. To Jason, Lindsay was his “rock and best friend.” The two often joked that they were “joined at the hip”—so much so that when they were apart, one would text the other, “My hip hurts,” just to say they were missed. Lindsay cherished Jason’s adventurous spirit. Together they built a life filled with boating, fishing, and hunting at Flaming Gorge, collecting nearly a lifetime of memories in the time they had. They spent countless moments waiting for a fish to flip the downrigger or for an elk, turkey, or deer to step into view. They were so in sync that words were often unnecessary; each knew exactly what the other was thinking. Their strengths and weaknesses fit together in a way that made life feel complete.

Lindsay always joked that Jason was a natural “nurturer,” a gift he inherited from his mom and dad. Jason had a rare way of walking into a room and immediately trying to make someone laugh. He could push his way straight into people’s hearts with his persistence, kindness, and his unwavering determination to make everyone feel seen and appreciated.

Jason fought with every ounce of strength he had—through two types of chemotherapy and a clinical trial. He was determined to stay with the people he loved, because no one could take care of them like he could.

Jason is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Lindsay Baird; his faithful companion Moose; his loving parents, Mike and Cathy Baird; his brother Travis (Jodee) Baird; his stepsons Justin and Marshall Mills, a daughter Madison; nieces, his nephew Kort (Taylor) Baird and an extraordinary circle of friends he considered family.

Jason was proceded in death by his niece Brittnee Ann, father-in-law, Dana Smith, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A viewing will be held in Jason’s honor at Myer’s Mortuary in Roy (5865 S 1900 W, Roy) on Wednesday, December 3rd from 5:00-7:00. On December 4th, a viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 followed by a Graveside Ceremony at the Ben Lomond cemetery (526 E 2850 N, North Ogden).

Jason and Lindsay would like to thank Warren and all the guys from The Riverbend Project in Jackson Hole Wyoming for-hosting Jason on a once-in-a-lifetime fly-fishing trip while he was receiving treatment in 2024.
