Jean Brower Jensen, 89, passed away July 9, 2025, at Brigham City Community Hospital. Jean was born February 29, 1936 in Parker, ID to Joseph Workman Brower and Pamela Mason Brower, the 2nd of eight children.
Upon graduating from Blackfoot High school in 1954, Jean moved to Salt Lake City to attend LDS Business College. In her early twenties, she worked several secretarial jobs for companies in the chemical and energy sectors. Some of her favorite memories of this time were a year spent in Anchorage, AK with her twin sister Joan and her time in Canoga park, CA where she lived with a close cousin.
In September 1959, Jean was called to serve in the Western States Mission. While serving in the Mission Home in Denver, CO, she became acquainted with Elder Kent Jensen, who had been transferred to the Mission home to recover after a serendipitous bicycle/car accident. When they returned from their missions, Kent courted Jean and they were married on March 8, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. Shortly after their marriage, Jean moved with Kent to his hometown of Brigham City, UT where they raised their eight children and lived the remainder of their lives.
Jean was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; her faith, family, and community were central to her life. She cherished serving alongside her neighbors in church organizations and at Church Distribution Services.
Jean will be remembered for her generous and loving nature. She worked tirelessly to care and provide for her family, making great personal sacrifices to create opportunities for her children that she would never enjoy. She brought music and laughter into the home and was always up for a competitive round of bowling or a night of spirited board games and dominoes with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to be part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kent Jensen, brothers Jerry and Fred Brower, and sister Joan Lindhardt.
Jean is survived by her eight children: David (Elizabeth), Mark (Remo), Pamela Theron,
Melanie Harmon (John), Christopher (Peyton), Michael (Leslie), Robert, and Valerie (Pablo) along with 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Siblings: James Brower, Mel Anderson, Ivan Brower and Marilyn May.
