LAS VEGAS - Jean Thomas Vernon passed peacefully into her Heavenly Father's arms on Sunday, April 27, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born February 15, 1926 in Ogden, Utah, to Thomas and Olive Thomas. Jean married Francis T. Vernon in Reno, Nevada, on October 21, 1946.

Jean dedicated her life to her children Tara and Robert. She was a loving grandmother to Thomas and Matthew Vernon and Chris and Steve Zink. Her joy in recent years centered on her great-grandchildren Noah, Hunter, Remington, and Athena Vernon.

Ever the perfect housekeeper, Jean spent her days cleaning her home and nurturing all those in her midst.

She is survived by her children Tara Zink (Harold) and Robert Vernon (Hope); sisters Joan Jacobson (Darrell), Myrene Alvord, and brother E. Parry Thomas (Peg); grandchildren Thomas (Shelly) and Matthew (Patty) Vernon; Chris and Steve Zink; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy in life was one of kindness and love. This gentle spirit will be missed.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.
