Jeannine "Jeanie" Burch Girardo

OGDEN - On Wednesday March 10, 2010, Jeannine Girardo died after a brief and sudden illness. She was born February 4, 1929 in Ogden, Utah, the only child of Samuel C. Burch and Amelia J. Biddulph. She married Eugene L. Girardo in January 1946.
Jeannine and Gene later moved to Long Beach California while he finished his naval service. They later relocated to Ogden , Utah where they lived their remaining years.
Jeannine was a career homemaker for many years. When she decided to go to work she held many jobs. Her favorite job was working for the American Red Cross assisting armed services personnel get home on emergency leave. Many nights she would return to the office to help a young man return home to an emergency.
She was a devoted mother and loved to have all her children and grandchildren around her. She was very active in the local community also. Her many activities included Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Fraternal Order of the Eagles (Past Aerie Auxiliary President), bowling and BASEBALL. Jeannine was inducted into the Utah Bowling Hall of Fame in 1996. She was also a devoted L.A. Dodger fan and very seldom missed the World Series. She also loved to travel visiting Japan and Germany in her travels.
Jeannine is survived by her children, Jerry (Betty) Girardo, Clearfield, Pat (Ralph) Bennett, Sunset, Ron Girardo, Sunset and Dave (Debbie) Girardo North Ogden, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Girardo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday March 13, 2010 at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield Rd, Layton Utah. Friends and family may call on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday 10 to 10:45 AM prior to services. Interment, Willard City Cemetery.
