Jeffrey Outlaw

–

Syracuse, Utah

Family and friends, it is I, Jeffrey Wayne Outlaw, better known as "Sweet Water Blue" to those in the know. I was born on December 7, 1959 to Margaret and James Outlaw in the humble town of Bethel, N.C. I took my final bow on May 18, 2026 in Utah where I built a life for over 40 years.

My life was full of adventure and laughter. I grew up in Connecticut where I graduated from James Hill House High in 1978. I spent my young years learning the value of hard work, the importance of family, and being raised by a God-fearing mother. I spent my days traveling for work, elbow deep in engines, playing sports, dominoes, and fixing things. I was a loyal, generous soul, always ready to help, and loved being present with my family. Before retirement, I spent many years working construction and my last working years as a mechanic at Hill Air Force Base. I loved cooking up a storm, listening to jazz music, and watching sports and westerns. I was a man who believed in God, following your dreams, living a simple life, and looking dapper in every environment. I believed in the value of education and was passionate and knowledgeable about politics and black history.

A few of my loved ones preceded me in death: father-in-law Fantley Jones, Sr.; sister Donna; father and mother James and Margaret; son Chrystopher; nephews Antwone, Raishon and Marcus; father-in-law and mother-in-law Oscar and Willye; brother Randy, brother-in-law Tyrone. I left behind a whole bunch of people who I am blessed to have shared my life with: my cherished wife and daughter Tammy and Kandyce; my siblings: Angela and Deborah, Carlton (Iris), James (Carole), Francis Stanton, Jesse (Michelle), Jimmy (Phyllis), Johnathan (Rosa), William, Junior (Karen), Jamie, Linda, Stephanie (Gregg); my granddaughters Felicia and Renae; and way too many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to name but love very much.

Now, I've got a date with a heavenly jazz band. I would love to be in your presence one last time. Join my farewell on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Myers Mortuary in Ogden at 12:00 pm for the viewing and 1:00 pm for the funeral service. Internment will take place at Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in South Ogden. Repast will follow after internment at Embry Chapel AME Church in Ogden. Remember to wear your best clothes in any color. I wouldn't want to be the only one looking sharp.

In lieu of flowers, I'd love for you to share any memories, thoughts, and/or photos of me and my family on my memorial page, www.myers-mortuary.com/obituaries/jeffrey-outlaw. Until we meet again, keep the laughter going and place your faith in the Lord.
