Jeffrie Frank Kerr Obituary (1961 - 2003)

JEFFRIE FRANK KERR 1961 - 2003 SALT LAKE/ROY - Jeffrie Frank Kerr, 42, passed away on August 16, 2003 due to complications from an extended illness. Jeff was born on May 14, 1961 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Fred Louis Kerr and Ora Lee Mendenhall. He was the youngest of nine children. He grew up in Roy, Utah and attended the Utah School for the Deaf. He was involved with many special needs programs. He enjoyed working at several sheltered workshops. Throughout his life he faced many challenges with great courage, strength and determination. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, skiing and participated in many Special Olympic events. He was involved with the Deaf Club and "Circle of Friends" groups in Salt Lake City, Utah. He enjoyed celebrating holidays with his family and friends, especially his birthday and Christmas. He was our inspiration, our teacher and will forever be our "special hero." He is survived by his mother, five brothers and two sisters, Terry (Kathy), Ogden; Brad (Shauna), Centerville; Kevin, Spokane, WA; Roger (Chris), Bountiful; Tim (Janine) Phoenix, AZ; Suzanne (Norman) Reese, Ogden; Wendy (Terry) Loock, Layton; 27 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews. His father and one brother, Ronnie Kerr, preceded him in death. The family would like to thank the owners and staff of TKJ, Inc., who have so graciously served as Jeff's extended family over the past 12 years of his life. Jeff truly loved each and every one of them. We will always be grateful for the love, support and countless hours of care that they provided to Jeff.
