Jennett Burton Obituary (1953 - 2010)

Jennett Burton Ogden - Jennett Burton, 56, died May 31, 2010 in Ogden. She was born July 9, 1953 in Ogden to Lenora Dockery and Chest Burton Jr. She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She moved to New York City where she resided for 13 years. She returned with her daughter to Ogden in 1987. She attended Long Island University and Royal Business School in New York. She later attended ATC in Ogden. She worked at the Weber County Library for several years. Although Jennett was medically disabled in 1999, she was very artistic and enjoyed crocheting. She donated many of her crafts to friends and family. She was an excellent cook, she appreciated culture, reading and she enjoyed intellectual studies. She was the Queen of the Internet. She was genuinely curious and sought knowledge pertaining to the dynamics of life. She loved family gatherings, when she was unable to attend a family function she still wanted to know all the details and happenings. She is survived by her daughters Fareedah James of Ogden and Salima Burton of LA, CA. Also survived by her siblings, Vernie (Conrad) Steverson of Layton, Minnie Roberts of LA, CA, Nayyirah F. Madyun of Charolotte NC, Sharon (Waldo) Danzy of Ogden, Jannet Burton (twin sister) of West Valley, Kenneth (LaDonna) Burton of Nashville TN, Chest Burton III of Ogden and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Lorraine Copper. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Friday, June 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
