Jeri Lynn McFarland
November 25, 1956 – April 20, 2025

On Sunday April 20, 2025 our beloved sister Jeri Lynn Jensen McFarland passed away peacefully in her home. Jeri Lynn was born on November 25, 1956 to Kent Reynolds and Jo Doris Jensen at the Cooley Memorial Hospital in Brigham City, Utah. She was the fourth child and second daughter. She learned to tap dance and do ballet in her younger years. Jeri also studied and played the piano for many years growing up.

Growing up on the farm east of Bear River City, Jeri enjoyed being outside. She loved working in the yard and took over responsibility in landscaping both the family’s and her grandmother’s yard. Later Jeri’s own yard in Layton was the host to her loving care and artful design. When John and Royce left home our dad would need help in starting the irrigation on our row crops. He would come down to our bedroom and get us up at the wee hours of the morning, actually about 6 o clock or so and have us go help get the irrigation pipes on the ditch going. Jeri was always the first one up and she was a whiz in getting the water to go through those pipes really fast. Jeri also enjoyed golf in her young adult life.

Jeri attended Kindergarten through sixth grade at Bear River Elementary School and later attended Box Elder Junior High and High School in Brigham City. She graduated from Box Elder High School as a member of the Class of 1975. During high school she worked at the Red Baron Restaurant in Brigham City as a waitress. Jeri Lynn attended Utah State University earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Early Childhood Education and Child Life Specialist. Jeri attended Weber State College in Ogden earning degrees in Medical Administration and Medical Coding. She worked in the medical field at Family Health Practice, Tanner Health Care and at one of the University of Utah Medical Centers until she retired.

Jeri enjoyed people and had a special way of always making a friend. She was a good listener. She was the center of her family keeping track of her brothers and sisters. Jeri enjoyed crafting and gave several homemade items as gifts to her family and friends. Jeri loved to read and was very up to date on history and current events happening around the world, the United States and locally. Jeri enjoyed watching sports having her favorite professional and college teams that she would watch and cheer on. She loved to read the scriptures. After her retirement she took a fond interest in Family History and worked diligently on finding her ancestors and information about them. Jeri endured several health issues in her life. She was valiant in her fight with the rheumatoid arthritis that she had.

Jeri Lynn will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Kaylene Deakins, Jolene (Robert) Moulton, one brother John Jensen, and a sister-in-law, Connie Jensen. She has 7 nephews John, Cameron and Steven Jensen, Nathan Jensen, Aaron, Ryan, and Travis Moulton. Four nieces Shana Jensen, Brandy and Crystal Deakins and Hayley Moulton. Seven grandnephews, seven grandnieces and one great-grandnephew. Jeri has several cousins and friends that loved her and will miss her.

Jeri is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Royce Jensen, sister-in-law Ramona Jensen, brother-in-law Scott Deakins, nephew Shane Moulton, and a grandniece Sheianne Kae Lynn Blakely.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East Brigham City, Utah.
