Jerrald Palmer Obituary (1923 - 2017)

Jerrald "JP" Palmer Jerrald "JP" Palmer, age 93, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in Brigham City, Utah incident to old age. JP was born in Oakley, Idaho on May 29, 1923 to James Carlile Palmer and Rachel Amelia Smith. He was raised in Grantsville, Utah. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. He married Merle Fisher, his wife of 62 years, in California on May 19, 1945 and they lived there 50 years. He worked for Safeway Stores as a warehouse manager for 33 years and raised 3 children. JP was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many different church callings. Service was his middle name. He enjoyed woodworking, making beautiful craft projects and even built 3 family homes. He always had a twinkle in his eye as he told his famous "stories." He and Merle retired at age 55 and later moved to Brigham City, Utah where they resided until their deaths. They enjoyed being close to their extended and very dear family. JP is survived by his three children Cheryl (John) Hurst, Nipomo, CA; Dennis (Lisa) Palmer, Cinebar, WA; and James Palmer, Springfield, OR; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Merle, his parents, brothers Kenneth and Bruce, and sister Beverly Stromberg. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Lake View Ward Chapel, 865 S. 300 W., Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E. from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery.
