Jimmie William Pelton

Jimmie William Pelton, 68, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend left this mortal life on March 12, 2008 to join his beloved wife. He was born on May 14, 1939 to Jim and Pearlie May Pelton in Ardmore, OK. He married Carolyn Lee on February 13, 1964 in Gainesville, TX; they were later divorced. On June 10, 1974 Jimmie married the love of his life, Edith M. Shurtleff in Reno, NV. She passed away February 19, 2008. Jimmie worked for Weber Human Services and Paag for 37 years serving the community, earning Man of the Year as well as other service awards. Jimmie made numerous friends throughout his lifetime. Jimmie was a very intelligent man. He could fix almost anything and was always up-to-date with worldly events and politics. Jimmie enjoyed playing pool, watching Nascar, playing the Idaho lottery and Keno in Wendover with Edie, Kelly and Brandon, and spending lots of time with his cat, Boo. Jimmie is survived by his children Kelly (Carol) Gallegos, Roy; Brandon (Melissa) Gallegos, Ogden; James Pelton, Gladewater, TX; and Page Pelton (Chris Wall), Ardmore, OK. His grandchildren include Brianna Covell, Chelsey, Mariah, Krissa and Kaden Gallegos, Ashley Pelton and Christopher Wall II; along with one brother, Jim Pelton Jr., Ardmore, OK and two sisters, Bessie Hathcock, Ardmore, OK and Ada Dutton, Wilson, OK. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife Edie, his parents, his sisters Doreen and Carol, his son Stephen Pelton and his granddaughter Ashley Gallegos.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45-10:45am. Interment will be held at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St.
