SYRACUSE- - Joanie Stoker, the best mom and wife in the world, left us too soon. She died July 20th, 2013 having bravely faced cancer, and later, ALS. Her faith in God helped her cope with her hardships.
She enjoyed road trips to new places, eating pasta at the Megaplex, sitting around a campfire, and spending time with her family and friends. She cherished her time as a Cub Scout leader in the LDS Syracuse 4th Ward. She also loved mystery novels, nature, and 80's soft rock.
She is survived by David Hampton, they were married on July 8th, 2011. She is also survived by her daughter, Megan Lee Stoker; her three sisters, Dalone Orozco, Laurie (Drew) Parker, and Shari (Casey) King. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee Floyd and Vera Garner Stoker.
Family and friends may gather Friday, July 26, from 10 to 10: 45 a.m. at the Syracuse 4th Ward Church, 1625 S. 1100 W., with graveside services following at 11 a.m. in the Syracuse City Cemetery, 1290 S. 1000 W.
