Our beloved angel mother, JoAnn Coleman, was reunited with her eternal companion on August 30, 2017. She was born on May 24, 1941 to Seaver Reno and Arthella Farr Eckersley in Ogden, Utah. She grew up in Ogden, attending Mound Fort Elementary/Junior High School and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She attended Weber State College and BYU, receiving a Bachelor's degree in education.

JoAnn married Ronald E. Coleman on August 2, 1965 in the Logan LDS Temple. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Ron passed away on August 30th of last year.

JoAnn taught Home Economics at Mound Fort and Highland Junior High Schools. She unselfishly resigned after five years of teaching to make her family her main focus.

She is survived by her daughter Ronalee (David) Heywood and son Kevin Coleman; two sisters, Carolyn (Boyd) Putnam and Yvonne (Joe) Parsons; brother Gene (Yvonne) Smith; cousin Charlene (Kent); eight grandchildren: Spencer, Shalyce, Sheraden, Karson, Brooke, Ashlee, Haylee and Hunter; one great grandson, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She served the Lord and others throughout her life in many capacities, including Primary, Mutual, Relief Society, and as an Ordinance Worker at the Ogden LDS Temple for 12A 1/2 years. She also served as a Stake Missionary and was a faithful Visiting Teacher.,

She enjoyed her family and liked to be involved in their lives by attending their many activities. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, candy making, crafts, gardening, dancing, plays, puzzles, and word searches. JoAnn always had a positive attitude and put others before herself. She was always encouraging, accepting, loving, supportive, and a great listener. She was a great example to all.

We will miss our lovely angel mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

A viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7th at the North Ogden 2nd Ward, 770 E. 2100 N. with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
