Joann Rice Ferre Obituary (1946 - 2015)

Our beloved mother, grandmother and wife, JoAnn Rice Ferre, was surrounded by her loved ones when she returned to her Heavenly Father on January 17, 2015. She was born on August 22, 1946 to Robert Rice and Betty Jean Stratford in Ogden, Utah and was raised by Boyd Naylor and Betty in Ogden. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1964 and married the love of her life, Alan Ferre, in the Logan Temple on June 5, 1968. She was devoted to her country and faith, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had an unfailing love for the Gospel. She enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, shopping and baking, but her highest priorities were her children, grandchildren and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born to be a mother and a grandmother and was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had unwavering faith in Jesus Chris and her love for His Gospel was an eternal light to every person in her life. JoAnn is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Joel (Sabra), Jodiann (Todd) Clark, Tricia, Christopher (Amber), Jeremy; nine grandchildren; and her parents, Boyd and Betty Naylor; brothers, Michael (Jayna) Rice and Randy Naylor. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Weber 1st Ward, 1401 East South Weber Drive. Family and friends may gather Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah and Thursday at the church prior to services from 9:45-10:45.
