BRIGHAM CITY- Joe F. Martinez passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 in Brigham City, UT. Joe was born on August 7, 1922 to Maria Virginia Chavez and Joe D Martinez in Dulce, New Mexico. Joe married Mary Doris Martinez on December 24, 1946. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He retired from Thiokol after working there for 35 years.
Joe is survived by his children: Barbara (Philip) Luce of Michigan and Stanley Martinez of Georgia, three grand-children and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Teresa Romero, Joe D. Martinez, Leo Martinez and Josie Gallegos.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris and a son James Martinez.
Mr. Martinez's wishes were to have a private family service.
The family would like to give special thanks to Alpine Hospice, Country Lane Assisted Living and friends that helped take care of Joe.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
