Johannes Molenaar Obituary (1913 - 2001)

JOHANNES MOLENAAR BRIGHAM CITY - Johannes Molenaar, 87, my beloved husband and friend of 61 years, and our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather said goodbye on February 5, 2001 at Brigham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born to Adrianus Dirk and Dirkje Verschoor Molenaar in Nieuwerkerk a/d Yssel, Holland on February 8, 1913. Johannes married his sweetheart and love of his life Hendrina Steinvoort in Rotterdam, Holland on October 25, 1939. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the Dutch Calvary. After the war he and his family moved to the United States settling in Brigham City. He worked various jobs as a home painter. He was a great handyman who could remodel and build almost anything. He particularly enjoyed his family, home and yard. Surviving are his wife Hendrina of Brigham City, three sons, Herbert (Francine) Molenaar of Ohio, Fred (Margaret)Molenaar of Brigham City, Ed (Andrea) Molenaar of Ogden, one daughter Rienie (Sam) Vigil of Ogden, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and eight sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9, 2001 at 12 Noon at Myers Mortuary, 205 So. 100 E., Brigham City. Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
