John Brennan

–

North Ogden, Utah

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved and remarkable man, John Brennan, often known as "JB" to his friends or "Homer" to his wife, who left us on July 5, 2025. Born in Ogden, Utah on January 4, 1949, John was a compassionate, courageous, loving, and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His devotion to his family was unmatched, and his infectious spirit will forever be etched in our hearts.

John was an exceptional man who led an extraordinary life. He was a Purple Heart recipient, an honor that testified to his courage and bravery. After dedicating many years serving in the water industry, he retired from Weber Basin Water in 2004. But his passion did not end there, he carried his love for water into his hobbies, by continuing as an admired duck hunting guide at Bear River Duck Company. He found immense joy in the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, riding side by sides and four-wheeling, or golfing. His adventurous spirit and zest for life were truly inspiring.

John's family was his pride and joy. He was a loving husband to Diane Brennan, whom he married on March 24, 1974. Their beautiful journey of love and companionship was an inspiration to all who knew them. John was also a cherished father to Jennifer Brennan, Jason (Kari) Brennan, and Jessi (Danny) Krieger, and a doting grandfather to his 6 grandkids (Jackson, Chaicee, Tuck, Paityn, Carter & Olivia) and great-grandbaby (Ellie) with another Brennan on the way. John was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Joyce Brennan. He is survived by his many beloved siblings: Chris (Lou) Eddy, Cathy (Bob) Strunk, Paul (Cezanne) Brennan, Pat (Sherrie) Brennan, Terry (Debbie) Brennan, and Tom (Bonnie) Brennan. His legacy of love, strength, and commitment will be carried on by those he leaves behind.

Please join us in celebrating John's life on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm MDT at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah, 84404. We invite you to leave memories and upload photos of John on his memorial page. It's a heartfelt tribute to a man who impacted so many lives. "The love in our family runs deep and true, leaving us with memories we will always cherish."
