John Allen Douglas found peace on February 3, 2025. John was born March 9, 1947 to Melbourne Allen Douglas and Patsy Ruth Dinsdale. Raised in Nyssa, Oregon and Ogden, Utah, he graduated from Weber High School, then proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and United States Navy. Following his service to his country, John worked as a firefighter for the Ogden Fire Department. Most impressive were his years of work as a self-taught painter. His incredible talent as a painting contractor was highly sought after, and during his hard working years he painted many houses that appeared in Utah Home Shows. John was a generous and giving person who willingly helped family, friends, and strangers. He will be remembered for his work ethic, his smile, his deep, genuine laugh, and especially for his spontaneous spirit that always resulted in fun.
John is survived by his children: Whitney Douglas, Pyper Ray, McKenzie Douglas and Levi Douglas; his grandchildren Ethan Ray and Emma Ray; and his siblings Reginald Child (Sharee), Laura Hutchinson (Tom), Susan Coy, Steve Child (Genett), Phillip Child (Debbie), and David Child (Kristie). John was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, parents, and his brother Scott Douglas.
Graveside services will be held February 14, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North, North Ogden, Utah.
