John Poivret Schraedel Iv Obituary (1928 - 2010)

John Poivret Schraedel IV John Poivret Schraedel, IV returned to his Father in heaven Thursday, August 26th, 2010, following quadruple bypass surgery. The surgery was successful but ensuing complications were insurmountable. John, known as Jack by his friends and family, was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to John Schraedel III and Edna Bertha Weidemann on December 4, 1928. He married Eloise Diana Dalton February 26, 1960 and the marriage was solemnized April, 1983, in the Salt Lake Temple. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Jack is survived by his wife Diana, oldest daughter, April; son Dr. Anthony Schraedel and wife Ann (McKinnon), children Tiffany, Jordan, Isaac, Julia, Roselind, Joseph and Daniel; son Stephen and wife Jolyn (Call), children Chrisanne, Stevie, Adam, Mark, David, Nicole, Heather and Aaron; daughter Lauren; daughter Stephanie and husband David Abrams, children Christian, Craig, Brooke and Makenzie. His dear sister Ann Haff, and a brother Philip Schraedel, both reside in Miami, Florida. Jack was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, discussing their talents in music, art, sports, and their educational pursuits and encouraging them to always do their best. He had a thirst for knowledge, was an avid reader and loved to share his philosophies with everyone. Those who knew him really enjoyed his stories and anecdotes. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which was a positive influence in his life. He felt that it was a great help in raising well rounded, intelligent children, with good moral values which are being passed on into the next generation. He was an electrician fo 55 years with the IBEW, and also dabbled in Venture Capital and Import/Export. He attended the University of Miami where he was a drum major and later a cheerleader. Jack started the tradition at the University of Miami of grabbing a hurricane flag and running the entire circumference of the football field each time a touchdown was made, a tradition still used today. He also went to the University of Florida and was a Gator fan. He took pride in his German heritage and loved to tell stories about his ancestors. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge. He resided in Liberty, and had a love for animals and nature, and enjoyed the outdoors. He will be missed by all.
