Joleen Torman Freer

Joleen Freer, mother, sister, and daughter, left this world to be reunited with her father Joe and son Tony on June 4, 2015. She passed away comfortably with her family at her side.
Joleen was born December 31, 1957 to Merla Peterson and Joseph Torman. She was known for her quick wit and keen sense of humor.
Over the years she had many friends who are dear to her. Her generosity was abundant in that she cared for many family members and friends, even welcoming them into her own home for extended periods of time. She openly welcomed two surrogate children into her home, Brooke and Travis.
Although, she faced numerous challenges of her own, she took great pride in being a caregiver to others. She adored her two children Jennifer and Tony and did everything she could to provide for them. Her life was richly blessed by her three beautiful grandchildren. Her happiest moments in her last days were spent with them.
Joleen enjoyed camping, skiing, practical jokes, playing pool, tole painting, candy making and spending time with her family. We will truly miss her enduring sense of humor and her ability for fun.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Dave) Shepherd; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kamryn, and Jaxon; mother, Merla Swenson; siblings, Curt (Patti) Torman, Hal (Janet) Torman, Jed Torman, and Lynette (Rick) Ruppel.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at South Ogden 5th Ward Chapel, 4380 Orchard Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may gather Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah and at the church from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers a donation box will be at the services to assist the family with funeral costs.
