Jolene Melba Wendel Wood Obituary (1935 - 2011)

JoLene Melba Wendel Wood WILLARD - JoLene Melba Wendel Wood, 75 passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at Emeritis Estates. JoLene was born on November 13, 1935 in Ogden, UT, to Melba Nebeker and Lewis Barber Child. She married Ira Wellington Wood on August 23, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. JoLene graduated from Box Elder High School and continued her education in business at Stevens Henager. She was employed at Hill Air Force Base and retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 25 years with the U. S. Government. She enjoyed scrapbooking, music, sewing, crafts, crocheting, traveling and genealogy. Most important to her was spending time with her grandchildren and family. JoLene was a member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. Surviving are her husband, Ira W. Wood, Willard; one son, Darin Ira (LeAnn) Wood, Sandy; one daughter, Shantel Wood (Dale) Bronson, Syracuse; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Sandra Wendel (Vick) Sanderson, Willard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melba and Fred Wendel and Lewis Child. The family wishes to give special thanks to Emeritus Estates for their loving care. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Willard 4th Ward Chapel, 80 N. 100 W., Willard, UT. Family and friends may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
