Joseph Val Garner

HOOPER -- Joe, 64, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2010 after a short battle with cancer. Joe was born on February 1, 1945 in Ogden, Utah, the son of William Roy and Florence LaVern Edwards. Joe married Judy Rae Patterson, and of this union, was born Angie and Kurtis Garner. Joe was retired after a long career as an auto mechanic.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, son, daughter, his parents and five brothers and sisters. Joe is survived by sisters: Betty, Shirlene, Larae, Dot, and Judy; and brothers Reed and Lonnie.

The family would like to thank Sunny and the staff at Washington Terrace Health Services for the generous and expert care they gave Joe, and our special thanks and gratitude to Michelle for her tender and loving care. We would also like to thank Becky and the staff at Inspiration Hospice for the tender care they gave Joe during the last few months of his life.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 11 a.m. at the Hooper Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, Family will greet friends on Tuesday, from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, prior to services.
