Joseph Bruce Palmer Obituary (2006)

Our dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Joseph Bruce Palmer peacefully passed away on December 17, 2006 of a brief episode of cancer. He was born March 23, 1939 in Granstville, to James C. Palmer and Rachael Amelia Smith. November 4, 1961 married Shirley Sanders in the Los Angeles temple. A man devoted to God, dedicated to his family and loyal to his work. Married to his sweetheart for 45 years he lived a life of testimony and giving. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 34 years and has been a loved member of the Kaysville community for the same time. He served faithfully in many church callings, worked tirelessly and without complaint for his family and was a friend to all he met. He enjoyed gardening and warm summer days. Joseph is survived by his eternal companion Shirley and his seven children; Mitch, Julie, Jason, Jenae, Justin, Jenny and Joseph (Brandon) and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kenneth Palmer and sisters, Beverly Stromberg and Amy Palmer. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Gailey Park 1st Ward, 50 West 331 South, Kaysville. Friends and family may meet Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton and Thursday at the church one hour prior to services.
