Joseph Ray Patterson
Joseph Ray Patterson passed away on March 29, 2017. He was born on November 3, 1923 to Joseph and Vira Stewart Patterson in Riverdale, Utah. He graduated from Weber High School. He served in the Army during World War II as an MP.
He married his sweetheart, Bonnie Collard, on October 21, 1948. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. Together, they raised 4 children and were married for 68 years.
He was raised a farm boy and loved farming and gardening. He had great stories from his memories of the past and history of the area. He worked for 30 years at the Post Office and had several other jobs, but his favorite job was when he did Meals on Wheels for the elderly, and he helped them with more than just their meals. He was a very compassionate person, but the main focus of his life was his family.
He was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, including ward clerk and home teacher. He really enjoyed being a temple worker at the Ogden Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children; Colleen (Roger) Larson, Connie (Jeff) Monroe, Brian Patterson, and Blair (Teresa) Patterson; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers; Delbert and Verl Patterson; his sisters; Doris Moosman, Fern Leavitt, and Arlene Harris.
