It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Juanita L. Bernal on June 7, 2026. Juanita was born on November 4, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, and spent her later years in Ogden, Utah, making a difference in the lives of those she encountered. Juanita was a compassionate soul, a beacon of love whose illuminating presence was felt by all who knew her.
A dedicated woman, Juanita found joy in her work as a housekeeper, an occupation that she enjoyed Yet, her work was merely an extension of her character; Juanita’s real vocation was her family. She was a loving mother to Vince , Michelle , Monica (Preston), Melinda , Jose , Isaac (Kristian) and Angelica.
As funny as she was kind, Juanita brought laughter and lightness to every gathering. She loved playing Yahtzee and Rummy with her family, and bowling with her sisters, bringing her competitive spirit and sharp wit to every game. Her love for her family was boundless, and her dedication to their happiness was unwavering. She was a woman whose love knew no limits, and whose memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Bernal, parents, Petronilo and Sarah Lovato, her brothers Petro Jr, Trinidad, Jose, Florentino, and Delfino Lovato, her sister Mary Gallegos and her beloved grandson Xavier. She is survived by her children and their partners, who will carry on her legacy of love. As the Bible says in Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed."
