Ogden, Utah
In the heart of Ogden, Utah, a creative soul named Karen Brown lived, loved, and labored for 86 inspiring years. Born Karen Elizabeth Wills Brown on September 5, 1938, in Roosevelt, Utah, she was a woman of exceptional talent and a boundless love for her family. A quote by Maya Angelou encapsulates Karen's spirit perfectly: "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." Her creativity was Karen's lifeblood, and she poured it into everything she did, from her work in contracts at Hill Air Force Base to her beloved hobbies of crocheting, knitting, and quilting.
Karen had an exceptional ability to turn a simple thread into a masterpiece. Her quilts, dollies, afghans, ponchos, and beanie caps were not only stunning displays of her talent, but also manifestations of her love for her family. She wove her affection into every stitch, each piece a testament to her devotion. Her creativity earned her several ribbons at the Utah State Fair and Weber County Fair, but more than the accolades, it was the joy of creating and the delight in her family's eyes that truly fulfilled her.
Karen is survived by her son Rodney Brown and his wife Wendy, her daughter Melany Price and her husband Charlie; her granddaughter Jacquelyn Brown; her grandson Andrew Brown; her granddaughter Chelsea Cutter and her husband Zachary, her great-granddaughter Chloe Brown, with an additional great grandchild on the way. Her sisters Gaye Stagge and Dixie Pitlo with her husband Gary also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Clara Wills; and her sister Connie Hancey.
Let us remember Karen not for her departure but for her vibrant journey of life. Her family was her greatest masterpiece, and she left a legacy of love stitched into the hearts of all who knew her. As we celebrate Karen's life, we invite you to share your memories and photos of her on the memorial page, a tribute to a remarkable woman whose creativity and love will continue to inspire us all.
