Karen Christensen Call

May 27, 1953 – October 3, 2026

Karen Christensen Call, 73, passed away on October 3, 2026. She was a lifelong Utah resident who grew up in and lived in Pleasant View for most of her life. Karen married Larry Call in the Ogden Temple, and together they began their family.

Karen dedicated much of her professional life to education. She began her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1984, followed by both a Master of Education and Juris Doctor degree in 1989. In 1993, she earned her Doctorate of Education. Her commitment to learning and education was an important part of who she was, and she was particularly proud of her accomplishments in higher education. Throughout her career, Karen worked as both a schoolteacher and college professor, where she was dedicated to her students and to the importance of education.

Karen was also a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities throughout her years of church service. Her faith and opportunities to serve others were meaningful parts of her life.

Outside of her professional life, Karen had a strong appreciation for creativity and hands-on activities. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, cooking and baking, and took pride in creating things for herself, her family, and others. She was often engaged in one creative project or another and enjoyed learning, making, and sharing her work with those around her.

She survived by her children, Melanie Bullock (J Bullock), Chad Call (Jennifer Call), and Lance Call; her grandchildren, Michael Call, Ryker Geary (Sarah Geary), Brayden Bullock (Shaylee Henry), Liz Call, Myley Keough (Josh Keough), Gabe Geary (Margarita Geary), Austin Call (Aubree Call), Landen Bullock (Jade Bullock), Mckali Gust (Johnathan Gust), Alexa Call (Jacob Park), and Kloee Call; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte Rose, Nixon Rose, Cooper Keough, Blakely Gust, Oakley Bullock, Enzo Geary, and Genevieve Geary; and her siblings, Bart Christensen (Cindy Christensen), Scott Christensen, Lori Arnett, Pamela Lee (Roger Lee), and Merilee Wendell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marilyn Christensen; her grandson, Sam Call; and her great-grandson, Oliver Rose.

Funeral services will be held on October 24th at 12:00 p.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery.
