Karen Yvonne Roos passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family at
the home of her daughter Debbie, on April 25, 2023 at the age of 85. She was
born September 18, 1937 in Afton Wyoming to Leonard and Devon Roos, the first
of three children.
Karen attended school in Afton Wyoming and graduated from Star Valley High
School where she excelled at acting and singing in stage productions. She married
Bill Van Noy in 1955 and three children were born. They lived in various locations
in western Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah eventually moving to stay in what was then
referred to as Kanesville and the last two of their five children were born.
Here, she pursued her love for music and was known for her great acting and
singing in local stage productions. Karen's talents also extended to her love for
sewing which she picked up from her mother, fine cooking, and she had a real
knack for re-decorating her home. She found work as an administrative
professional in positions with medical records, real estate, and at Weber State
University in the Department of Business and the Alumni Center from which she
retired. These positions led to many friendships and an income that sustained her
beyond divorce and as a single parent for her two minor children at the time.
