Karla Jones Holt
First-born to Jesse Lewis Jones and Eunice Newbold Jones, in Logan Utah on February 3, 1939. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 28, 2015. Karla's siblings include Lennis (Wells) Stephensen, Maureen (Glen) Davies, and Randy (Donna) Jones.
Married David Holt in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on May 9, 1958. Together, she and David raised four children, Lynda (Charlie) Wingo, Susan (Dan) Nelson, Janet Jolley, and Deron (Shawna) Holt. Karla attended Weber State College while also caring for her husband and children. She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years, the first 10 spent teaching in Weber County and the last 20 spent teaching in Davis County. She was an excellent teacher and made many dear friends throughout her career. Upon retirement, Karla and David moved to West Yellowstone, MT to pursue one of their favorite passions, exploring nature. While living in West Yellowstone, they would play host to friends and family, making sure all of the Grandchildren were able to spend time with them each summer, traveling around and seeing the sites.
Karla loved spending time with children and teaching about the world around them. She found teaching moments in her daily life and would take every available opportunity help a child to learn something new.
Surviving are her husband, children and siblings, as well as eight Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, sister-in-law, a baby sister, and a Grandson, Elliott Jolley. Karla was a practical soul with simple convictions.
Her final wishes include a viewing to be held at 10:30 am on Saturday August 1, 2015 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, followed by a graveside service at Noon at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd.
The family wishes to thank the compassionate staff at Integrity Home Health & Hospice, for the tender loving care and support they provided.
