Kaysville, Utah
Katherine was born December 13, 1948 in Hamilton, Montana to Betty Joyce Deffenbaugh and Earl Joseph Davis. A sister, Cynthia Joyce Davis, joined her on July 28, 1952 and they became close friends.
Katherine went to BYU in 1967, where she met her husband, Stephen Monroe Hart at a dance. They were married on August 2, 1969 in the Los Angeles Temple. They had six wonderful children, four sons and two daughters.
Katherine loved birds and flowers. Her favorite time was early morning listening to the birds sing and weeding her flowers. She loved the vegetable garden that her husband grew and did a lot of canning, freezing, and drying of their harvest.
She loved to sew, reupholster ugly old furniture, cross-stitch, crochet and making hand quilted pieced quilts. She loved her home and spent many hours decorating it.
She loved to cook for her family and loved baking cookies and whole wheat bread drizzled with honey.
She loved her family deeply and unconditionally. The deaths of her two sons, Robert and Stephen, deeply affected her and she was very thankful for her faith and knowledge of the Plan of Happiness.
Katherine was passionate about family history and spent many years in research and temple work for her ancestors. It took her 20 years to find the right Kepler father but she worked at it till she could prove her discovery.
Katherine loved studying the scriptures and especially the Book of Mormon and the Book of Enoch. Hours flew by as she immersed herself in her study.
Katherine is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; son, Monroe (Kristen), daughter, Jennifer Perry (Bryce), daughter, Rebecca; and son, Aaron (Jenn).
