Kathleen Shumaker

Kathleen Norma Shumaker, a compassionate soul, and a beacon of courage, departed from us on September 14, 2026, leaving a void that could never be filled. Born on December 13, 1960, in New Castle, PA, Kathleen was a lover of life, an adored wife, mother, and grandmother, and an individual of extraordinary character. Her spirit was as vibrant as a sunflower, a spirited woman who embraced life's challenges with a smile.

Kathleen moved to Ogden, Utah, a decade ago and made a warm, loving home with her husband, Scott Shumaker, whom she married on January 13, 1990. Famously known for her years of dedicated customer service at Home Depot, Kathleen was also a lover of video games, often seen defeating the sorcerer's evil plans in the world of Spyro on her PS4. She adored her dog, Charmie, and spent countless hours of joy with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. For Kathleen, her family was her universe, her fortress of love. Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Kathleen embodied this quote, as she loved deeply and was loved in return.

Kathleen leaves behind her loving husband, Scott Shumaker, her cherished children, Amanda Schweidt, Mike Shumaker, Adam Shumaker, and daughter-in-law, Mary Shumaker. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Ruth McNulty. Her memory will continue to inspire us, reminding us of her courage, love, and spirited nature.

The family invites you to a visitation on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 12:00 pm MDT, at Myers Mortuary - Ogden, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah, 84404. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm MDT in the same location.
