Kathryne Sprague Porter Obituary (1947 - 2007)

Kathryne Sprague Porter ROY - Kathryne Sprague Porter, 60, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in Ogden, Utah at McKay Dee Hospital from complications of a stroke. She was born March 23, 1947 in Montpelier, Idaho, the daughter of Edwin Junior and Joan Thomas Sprague. She married Calvin Porter on May 17, 1968 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a graduate of Davis High School. She was an active member of the Roy Third Ward and served in numerous positions including Primary, Relief Society, Librarian and Bishop's Wife. She loved her family. She spent her entire life involved in activities with her children and nine grandchildren (the love of her life) including band, sports, and school activities. She was always more concerned of others than she was of herself. This dedication to service of others involved her in substitute teaching at Municipal, West Haven, Valley View, Kanesville Elementary, Roy Junior, Sandridge Junior High, and Roy High School. She made a difference in everyone's life she came in contact with and truly loved people. She is survived by her husband Calvin Lyle Porter, sons Shawn, Andrew (Lindsey Mehling) all of Roy, Utah; Trent (Rebecca LaRose) of West Haven, Utah and her nine grandchildren. Also surviving her mother, one sister and four brothers. She was preceded in death by her dad and daughter Amy. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Roy Third LDS Chapel, 5930 South 2200 West with Bishop Bill Reeder conducting. Friends may pay their respects Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Roy Third LDS church and Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
