Katsumi Iha Twedt Obituary (1944 - 2006)

KATSUMI IHA TWEDT ROY - Katsumi Iha Twedt, 62, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, August 13, 2006 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah following a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born January 30, 1944 in Okinawa, Japan, the daughter of Takeji and Mitsuko Iha. . She married Kermit Orville Twedt on January 23, 1973 in Okinawa, Japan. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Okinawa Culture Club in Utah Kenjin-Kai. Katsumi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly. She was very passionate in dancing with all her close friends of the Okinawa Kenjin-Kai. She also enjoyed knitting, shopping and cooking for her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, traveling and most of all she loved spending time with her family. Katsumi is survived by her loving husband Kermit of Roy; two children; Wayne (Kristina Snow) Twedt of Riverton; Katrina (Jose) Luna of Kaysville; stepchildren; Brian Twedt of Oregon; Patricia Waters of California; three grandchildren which were her pride and joy. Also surviving are siblings Sumako Iha, Mitsuo Iha, Akitsugu Iha, and all her close friends at Kenjin-Kai. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Machiko and one brother Hiroji. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
