1916 - 2004

OGDEN - Keith Jones Read died Friday, March 5, 2004 at Infinia Health Care in the loving arms of his family. Keith was born March 16, 1916 to Albert and Harriet Read in Ogden Utah. His early years were spent enjoying nature, his family, and working with his father at the family business, J.G. Read Brothers. He served a mission for the LDS Church to Australia, and soon after his return, married his life long sweetheart, Dorothy Little Read, daughter of Lennie Garner and James A. Little of Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized September 4, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He valued education and graduated from Ogden High School, and attended Weber College as he continued to learn varied skills and held a variety of positions at Read Brothers. He proudly served his country as a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was devoted to church service and served as ward clerk, executive secretary, stake clerk, and Bishop. He and Dorothy also enjoyed serving a mission to Oakland California.

He joined his parents and two brothers and is survived by his wife, a brother, Boyd Read, a sister, Isabel Taintor, and two children, Gayle Stenquist and Scott Read, both of Ogden. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Grateful thanks is extended to those unwavering caregivers at Odyssey Hospice as well as Infinia Health Care. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Odyssey Hospice.
