OGDEN - Kenneth Ernest Barnes, 68, passed away Monday, August 19, 2002 at his home.

He was born February 18, 1934 in Evanston, Wyoming to Ernest and Evelyn Bates Barnes. He married Jeanette Buck Olson on January 12, 1952 in Ogden.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2472 and United Transportation Union. He was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad.

He was a member of the LDS church.

His hobbies included camping, the out of doors and woodworking. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife Jeanette B. Barnes; children, Gary (Shane) Barnes, Kansas; Lori (Ron) Stewart, Ogden; Kathy (Mike) Croft, Syracuse; Mike (Cindy) Barnes, Syracuse; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are his mother, Evelyn (Ray) Hanson; and three sisters, Marlene Clark, Ogden; Myrna Burbank, Ogden; and Gaye (Blaine) Loftus, Roy. He was also survived by his special pal Toby.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica; and his father.
