"WAYNE"

WEST HAVEN - Wayne died March 20, 2010, of an extended battle with diabetes, which over time robbed him of his leg, strength, and dignity. He was born on April 22, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Kenneth R. and Mildred London George.

Wayne attended Weber High School and lived in Nevada and Utah. He married Charlotte Anderson, July 7, 1961, and together they had four children. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after twenty years of service.

Wayne loved spending time with his sons, fishing and hunting. He loved being around his family. He enjoyed telling stories, most of them not true. He had the most contagious laugh, and a twinkle in his blue eyes, to go along with it. He loved spending time training and racing horses with his father, which he continued until his declining health took over his life.

He was a member of the Wasatch Cutter Racing and Utah Quarter Horse Association.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Scott (Shellie), Hooper, Dirk, Roy; two daughters, Jana (Bob) Bullock, West Haven, and Danielle (Travis) Hall, Ogden. He is also survived by his mother, Mildred Shaw, Roy; sister, Kathy (Roger) Bute, Roy; step-brother, Curt (Sue) Shaw, West Haven; step-sister, Kellie Shaw, Ogden, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, and one special brother-in-law, Ralph Briggs.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Larry, and his stepfather, Marriner Shaw.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., at Hooper City Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, Hooper, Utah. A gathering of family of friends will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse at the Country Meadows Mobile Home Park, 3750 Midland Dr, Roy, UT

In lieu of flowes, donations maybe made to te mercan Diabetes Association, 182 S. 600 E. #100, Salt Lake City, UT 84102.
