West Haven, Utah
On August 27, 2023, Kessler Ross Kucharski, 18, of West Haven, UT, was reunited with his mother, Felicia Case Kucharski.
Kessler was born on January 27, 2005 in Ogden, Utah and was cherished by his parents Brandon Kucharski and Felicia Case Kucharski. In February of 2013, Kessler chose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A few months later, Kessler's father remarried, and Kessler gained his extra mom, Elise (Peterson) Mark. Kessler endured the loss of his mom, Felicia, in June 2018. He went on to graduate from high school.
As a proud graduate of Roy High School, class of 2023, Kessler participated in football, wrestling, Future Farmers of America, and he had learned how to weld as part of the Ogden-Weber Technical College. Kessler was a determined worker who was confident he could accomplish anything, and he often put himself to the test.
Throughout his life, Kessler enjoyed many traditional trips, events, and activities with his parents, siblings, and extended family. Those included trips to Bear Lake, camping, fishing, swimming, skateboarding, ATVing, boating, backyard boat racing, Halloween parties, cousin hangouts, boxing, wrestling, and other shenanigans with his brothers and sisters.
Kessler loved life and was especially drawn to anything with wheels. He loved trucks and took pride in his 1999 GMC Sonoma, even though it was clearly the worst truck in the state of Utah. He loved his motorcycle and his job at Boyer Construction where he worked on a demolition crew. Most of all, Kessler loved his family and friends.
Kessler was goofy and full of life. He proudly wore cowboy boots, danced with silly swagger to his loud music, and he didn't care what others thought of him. His big blue eyes and mischievous grin could turn dark moments into unexpected squealing giggles. He owned the room, laughing at his own jokes with a genuine chuckle that was utterly contagious. His laughter was the music of our family gatherings, a soundtrack to the boundless joy he shared with all of us.
Even from a young age, Kessler loved to serve others. He was a friend to everyone. With his big heart, Kessler lent a listening ear and gave comfort and support when needed, often offering one of his legendary healing hugs.
Kessler was full of adventure (and misadventure!) and loved to tell the most animated, roundabout stories. He would come back a few minutes later to tell you all the details he'd forgotten, reliving the stories with even more passion.
Kessler was preceded in death by his mother, Felicia Case Kucharski, and his grandfather, Larry Gilmer Kucharski.
Kessler is survived by his parents Brandon and Elise Kucharski and his siblings: Colbyn Kucharski (Kaitlin Park), 21; Aidan Kucharski, 19; Johanna Mark, 19; Lucas Mark, 16; Bohde Kucharski, 15; and Ruby Kucharski, 4. Grandparents: Jeanette Kucharski (Charles) McIntyre; Carl and Lori Case; Kent and Sonja Peterson. He will also be greatly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
The family expresses gratitude to the living angels who made heroic efforts to try to save Kessler's life.
Kessler, you were a bright light in our world! May your light so shine and your good works continue until we meet again!
