Kevin Joseph Houtz passed away among family and friends on Wednesday, June 17th at 4:04 p.m. He was 29 years old. Kevin was born on January 28, 1986 to Larry M. and Malinda Jean (Cottam) Houtz. He grew up in North Ogden where he was a member of the LDS Church. He graduated from Weber High in 2004 where he met Stephanie Dellos, his high school sweetheart and future wife. Shortly after marriage they had their beautiful daughter Kazlie. Stephanie and Kazlie brought a light to Kevin's life that everyone could see. They were everything to him. While his life was short, it was also full.
He was a loving, caring, and generous person who never wanted to burden others. He was always cheerful and smiling. His positive attitude, through all things, was an inspiration to all of us. He reserved his warmth, charm, and playfulness to those he cherished. He held a special place in his heart for his niece and nephews, who he would sing to and play with at every family event. Kevin had a passion for modifying and racing cars, four wheelers, and RC's. Once he started a project he would often spend countless hours working to complete it. While he had a passion for modifying things, his real joy in life was spending time with his wife, daughter, family, and friends.
When he was younger he enjoyed causing mischief and chugging mountain dew with his friends. He loved four wheeling at the dunes, boating and yearly trips to Flaming Gorge with his wife and family. He also loved to play, read stories, sing, and rock his daughter Kazlie to sleep. He cherished time spent with his wife Stephanie going to drive-ins and cuddling. Kevin loved helping people and giving of his time and talents to do whatever he could for others. He was truly selfless and showed this, even after death, by giving the gift of life and becoming an organ donor. Our beloved brother, son, father, and husband will be missed but never forgotten.
Kevin is survived by his wife, his daughter, his parents; a Grandfather, Dudley Gibbs; his brothers Brandon and Tyler; and his sister Michelle (Houtz) Stagge.
