Kevin "Mac" E Mccrary Obituary (1955 - 2014)

Kevin "Mac" McCrary Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Kevin "Mac" McCrary, passed away peacefully October 12, 2014 in his home. He was born in Seattle, WA on May 31, 1955 to Eugene and La Preal McCrary. Kevin married his eternal companion Susan Hildebran on September 21, 1978 in the Los Angeles Temple. They met in San Luis Obispo, CA and spent 36 crazy, adventurous and wonderful years together. They have four children and four grandchildren together. As a child he lived with his family in Dusseldorf, Germany and as a missionary he was called to serve there as well. Kevin loved speaking German and prided himself in the German culture. Kevin spent the majority of his childhood in Santa Maria, California. He lived in California for over 28 years. He graduated from Righetti High School and attended Allen Hancock College and Cal Poly -San Luis Obispo. Kevin enjoyed sales and having his own carpet cleaning company for over 15 years. He also was a Federal Officer in the Lompoc Penitentiary for 7 years. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything. He loved reading, creating jewelry, gardening, making and eating Sushi, long Sunday drives with his family, Santa Maria style BBQ's, camping, traveling with his best friend Lorin, Koi fish ponds, and spending time watching cartoons with his grandchildren. He was a big teaser and loved to make people laugh. He never took life too seriously and you never heard a bad thing come out of his mouth about anyone. He also loved his family dearly and would always put them first. He is survived by his wife, Susan McCrary; children, Heidi (Brandon) Rodriguez, Michael (Irene) McCrary, Tawny (Ben) Harmston, and Naomi McCrary; four grandchildren, Bentley Harmston, Maddox Rodriguez, Diego, and Lola McCrary; siblings, Lorin (Renee) Gardner, Kalene (Art) Dyck, Roger (Kris) McCrary; and cousin, Rick (Loretta) Walker, and many other cousins and friends he loved dearly. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1475 Cahoon St. Ogden, Utah , with a visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment and Dedication of his grave will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
