Konold "Bill" William Lafleur Obituary (1918 - 2014)

Konold William LaFleur (Bill) September 24, 1918 - September 24, 2014 Ogden - Konold William (Bill) LaFleur passed away on his 96th birthday. Konold was born September 24, 1918 in Ogden, Utah, son of Charles Joseph and Mildred Sophia Konold LaFleur. He was called Bill or Bus most of his life. Bill married the love of his life, Ruth LaVon Dickamore, on 7 November 1942 in Preston, Idaho. They were later sealed, 24 August 1960, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He worked for Browning Buick. He owned and operated the Conoco Service Station on 2nd St. and Harrison, called the "Square Deal Corner" by local youth. He enjoyed his many talks with all who visited his Station. He served in the Army - Air Force during WWII. He enjoyed time with family, fishing and time on his boat the "Ruthie L". He also enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts and aiding many young men who needed help with their cars. He was a handyman and loved making bird houses with his wife Ruth for many to enjoy. Bill and Ruth loved working together in their garden. He loved reading a good Louis L'Amour, watching a good ballgame and a cold Pepsi. Bill is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ruth of Ogden; his six sons that he loved and was very proud of, Floyd (Kathy) Plain City, UT, Bob (Suzanne), Enumclaw, WA, Charlie (Kelly) Ravensdale, WA, Steve (Ann), Harrisville, UT, Kevin (Carol), Idaho Falls, ID and Mark (Dawn), Clearfield, UT. He was such a kind gentle Grandfather who was loved dearly by his 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne Thorpe of OR and brother, Jerry (Mickey) of NV. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Zachary and brothers, Jack and Hal. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. with a viewing prior from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. . at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Thanks to all family members for their help.
