Kusuo "Kuch" Sato Obituary (1922 - 2014)

Kusuo "Kuch" Sato CORINNE - Kusuo Sato passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Brigham City, Utah. Kusuo was born on July 27, 1922 in Harper Ward, Utah; son of Heinjo and Nofu Watanabe Sato. His parents passed away as a young child so Kuch was raised by his sisters Suzuko and Yae. He graduated in1941 from Box Elder High School. Kuch proudly served his country in WWII in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He married his sweetheart Mable Nagata on January 27, 1947. Kuch farmed in west Corinne for several years and worked for the Bear River Valley Co-op managing the fertilizer division. Kuch joined with three other partners to form Utah Onions. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for service performed as a member of the 100th Infantry 442nd Regimental Combat Team and MIS on February 18, 2012. Kuch was a member of the Buddhist Church. He loved fishing, gardening and golfing. His greatest joy in life was his family. Surviving are his wife Mable, Corinne; daughters: Cheryl (Dana) Morvillo, La Verkin, UT; Nanci (Robert Baldwin) Wirth, Wendover, NV; Vickie (Lou) Romero, Brigham City, UT; Jolene Jensen, Midvale, UT; Wendy (Jeff) Cox, So. Jordan, UT; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Suzuko Nagata. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Fusae Shiotani, Shigechi Sato, Yae Nisogi, Sam Sato, Nobuchi Sato and Miyoko Sato. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Diehl and Dr. Michael Shaw for the loving care they have shown. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery with Military Honors Accorded.
