L.P. Jones Obituary (1926 - 2001)

OGDEN - L.P. Jones, age 75, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Ogden Regional Hospital. He was born August 6, 1926 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Ciscro and Nettie Jackson Jones. His family moved to Utah in 1951. He married Lillie Hall on November 23, 1954. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, and worked at Hill Air Force Base for 38 years before retiring. He loved to fish, hunt, and paint cars as a hobby. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Lillie Jones of Ogden; their children, Clarence (Cathy) Jones of Roy; Roxane Jones, Renae Jones, Bruce Jones, Denise Jones, Melvin Jones, Alcindor (Jenifer) Jones, Nicole Jones, and Kelee Jones, all of Ogden; and a special friend, Vincent Calhoun of Ogden. Also surviving are the following children, Edward Van Jones, Lawrence Paul Jones, Hazel Jones, all of Mississippi; Brenda (Arthur Lee) Holston, Ogden; three brothers, Mathew, Denon and Randolph; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that were very special to him.
