LaMont Hall Obituary (1928 - 2023)

ONE OF THE "GREATEST GENERATION" LaMont Hall was called home April 16, 2023, at the age of 94. He was born October 9, 1928, in Hyrum, Utah to Irvin J. Hall and Meda Garner Hall. He served in the US Army as an artillery Cannoneer during the occupation of Japan at the end of WWII. He married Bonnie Seamons in the Logan Temple on June 24, 1949. Their marriage was blessed with six children. They raised their family in North Ogden and Pleasant View. LaMont built Bonnie a patio home in St. George in their retirement. They enjoyed square dancing and competed in square dancing in the Utah Summer Games. They loved to travel and enjoyed seeing the United States in their 5th wheel trailer. They especially enjoyed camping at Bear Lake and loved to have their family visit them. LaMont and Bonnie have always enjoyed church callings and service to others. They especially enjoyed their three-year church service mission at the St. George Cannery. Farming was a big part of LaMont's life. He bought a farm in 1969 and enjoyed growing a variety of crops for many years. After selling the farm he continued tending his large garden in Pleasant View. In 2019 LaMont and his son Steven took the journey of a lifetime as a guest of Utah Honor Flight to see all of the Veteran Memorials in Washington DC. LaMont is survived by his wife Bonnie; children Steven (Jan), Cydne Zampedri (Tom), Bruce (Karen), Scott (Lani), Susanne Stanger (Dave), Craig (Sharalee); his sister Ilene Fuhriman, 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Glen Hall, sister LaVoe Seamons and 2 great granddaughters. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Chancellor Gardens and Mindi and A+ Hospice and Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Pleasant View 11th Ward, 3602 No. 500 W., Pleasant View, UT with a viewing prior from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment at the Ben Lomond Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
