LaMont A. Johnson Click here to listen to Funeral Recording LaMont A. Johnson, 82, of Ogden Utah, passed away on June 2, 2014, in Ogden. LaMont was born in North Ogden, Utah on February 9, 1932 to Venna Elizabeth Montgomery and Frank H. Johnson. He graduated from Weber High School where he excelled in football. LaMont married Peggy M. Seeley in the Logan LDS Temple on July 9, 1958. They were married almost 56 years. He was an elder in the LDS Church and served as a Home Teacher. LaMont served his country in the Korean War, spending 4 years on a battleship; the U.S.S. Radford. LaMont worked as a machinist for the Southern Pacific Rail Road for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Chicago Bears football and Cincinnati Reds baseball, spending time building and staying at his beloved cabin in Island Park Idaho with his brothers and family. LaMont loved to listen to country music; especially Marty Robbins. LaMont is survived by his wife, Peggy; 4 sons, Kevin, David (Kamma), Chris and Darren (Heather); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home as well as Chris and Richard Johnson for the special care they gave LaMont in the recent years.
