Lavaun Phillips Wilson Obituary (1921 - 2002)

LaVaun Wilson OGDEN - LaVaun Peterson Phillips Wilson, age 80, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2002 at her home. She was born September 16, 1921 in Pleasant View, Utah to Nephi and Lydia Margaret Cragun Peterson. She married Newel M. Phillips on April 8, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple, he preceded her in death on February 18, 1974. She married Ernest F. Wilson, Sr. on June 9, 1978 in Elko, Nevada, he preceded her in death on September 9, 1999. She was a member of the LDS church, where she was active in Relief Society, Primary, Ward Chorister and Young Women's. She was an Instrument Repair Technician at Hill Air Force Base before retiring. She was active as a sub for Santa and volunteered her time with the March of Dimes. She enjoyed gardening and singing with the Sweet Adeline's singing group. Surviving are her children, N. Lynn Phillips, Brawley, CA; Blaine E. Phillips, Ogden, UT; Jean (Scot) Jenkins, Burbank, WA; step-children, Ruby Mae Bradshaw, Riverdale, UT; Ernest F. (Marlyn) Wilson, Jr., Roy, UT; step-son-in-law, Leonard Mosher, Riverdale, UT; six grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, 43 step-great-grandchildren; and 16 step great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, Thora Phillips, Ogden, UT; Elna Brown, Ogden, UT; and Arland (Gayle) Peterson, North Ogden, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Laura, Lucille, Erna, Maurine and Norma.
