Layne Don Clarke returned to our Father in Heaven with his eternal sweetheart on Wednesday July 26, 2017, from a tragic airplane crash near the Ogden Utah Airport. He was born March 26, 1969 in Ogden, Utah to parents Don Edward and Rosalie Brown Clarke. Layne graduated from Weber High School and LDS seminary in 1987. He served in the Italy Catania Mission for two years and returned with honor in 1990. Upon returning home he met the love of his life, Diana Wilcox. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on September 21, 1990. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served willing and selflessly in many callings. He most recently served on the High Council. He was an avid supporter and served the youth for many years in the scouting program, helping many young men achieve their Eagle Scout award and helping make men out of boys. He was a very supportive husband and father and was found at countless football games, water polo games, bike races, swim meets, dance recitals, triathlons and any event his children were a part of. He coached many football and basketball games that involved his children. He loved being on the sidelines encouraging and coaching them, constantly saying "go big or go home". He was a great cheerleader even when he was not coaching. He personally completed the full Iron man, LOTOJA and many other events. He enjoyed flying, camping, boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and loved his time with his family at their cabin in Island Park, Idaho. He was always looking for the next adventure for his family. He loved to travel with his sweetheart and went to many incredible places. He believed in living life to the fullest. It was always his goal to ensure that life was to be celebrated. Life was always an adventure in "Layne's World," he made sure that any activity he was part of, was an unforgettable experience for those involved. Layne started a successful business with his brother, Corry. They proved to be an extraordinary team. They were best friends, inseparable in life and now united in death. Layne had such a kind heart and was found serving those around him. He was a very devoted, son, brother, father and "papa". Nothing meant more to Layne than his family. He is survived by his four children, Alexis (21) and her fiancAC. Tanner Wade, Jaden (19), Hanna (17), and Jordan (16), and his "adopted" daughter Bunnylyn (Anthony) Baugh and their two children. His father Don, sister Donette Crayton, sister in law Brenda (Steve) Grange and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Rosalie Clarke and brother, Corry Clarke. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Ogden LDS Tabernacle 2125 Washington Blvd Ogden. A visitation will be on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weber Stake Center 2200 S 4300 W Taylor and prior to services from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Tabernacle.
