Lee J. Howe Obituary (1915 - 2006)

Lee J. Howe OGDEN - Lee J. Howe, 91, died Monday, July 24, 2006 of heart failure. He was born May 4, 1915 in Memphis, Tennessee to Lee J. Howe, Sr. and Laura Brown Howe. He was raised in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from Central High School in 1934. He married Evelyn Elizabeth Torman on August 9, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married 58 years until her death on January 26, 1999. He worked for 50 years in law enforcement working for both the Ogden City Police Department and the Weber County Sheriff's Department. He was a charter member of the Ogden Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2472 and served as Aerie President, Past President and Trustee with a total of 59 years of faithful service to the Lodge. Dad loved the outdoors, and spent many hours camping and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling and was able to visit many areas throughout the United States. He enjoyed Ham radio, receiving his first radio as a young child. He experienced many changes in his lifetime and had many stories to share with all. He is survived by his children, Connie Jones, San Jose, CA; Bob Howe, Las Vegas, NV; Jim Howe, Ogden; Jody Conrad, Sacramento, CA; Laura (Doug) Hunt, North Ogden; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his companion Carol Powell. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Lee J. Howe Jr. The family would like to thank Alpine Hospice, especially Miller and Barbara for their loving kindness.
