Lee Hart Kimber
May 10, 1933 – April 18, 2026
Lee Hart Kimber passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, after a lengthy battle with
Parkinson’s disease and macular degeneration. Lee was born May 10, 1933, in Ogden,
Utah to Joseph Edwin “Ted” Kimber and Martha Hart. Martha was staying with her sister in Ogden at the time of his birth and then traveled back to Grouse Creek, Utah, where he lived until he left for Brigham City to attend Box Elder High School. After high school he returned to Grouse Creek and worked with his father on the family ranch. Lee also attended Weber State College.
Lee served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict. He was stationed in
Japan, Korea, and Hawaii, and took great pride in serving in the color guard at parades
and receptions for dignitaries.
In June 1955, while visiting an aunt in Ogden, met, June Arlene Edwards. Arlene, who
was from neighboring Almo, Idaho, was living with her sister at the time. They fell in love and were married in May 1956 in Ogden, Utah and were later sealed in the Ogden Temple.
He retired from the Department of Agriculture in May 1988 after 30 years of service. He loved visiting with his family. Most of his visiting occurred while hunting, fishing,
shooting, cleaning cars, watching sports, eating breakfast at the local cafe, or working
on any number of projects. He was a good listener and loved spending time with family and friends.
He could fix just about anything and was willing to teach his boys as they worked
alongside him. He had an incredible memory and a gift for learning new things, resulting in him purchasing one of the Apple Macintosh computers in the early 1980s. He never lost his curiosity or his desire to know how things work.
He was a member of the LDS church, actively doing work for his ancestors in the
temple and indexing over 10,000 records.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings: JoAnn (Gordon) Tanner, Norman (Fern) Kimber, and Carolyn. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; brother, Keith (Judy) Kimber; four children, Gary (Jodi) Kimber, Scott (Karen) Kimber, Steve (DeeDee) Kimber, and Brent (Hollie) Kimber; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Syracuse LDS Chapel (1285 S. 2500 W., Syracuse, Utah).
